Get Advance Notice of Pending Cable Faults with the ICSF Detector (Patent Pending)
Most cable splice failures are caused by water ingress. This ingress results in repeated
faults of very short duration. By detecting the waveforms associated with these faults,
it is now possible to give your maintenance crews advance notice that a fault is imminent
and allow them time to perform preventative maintenance, saving costly unplanned outages.
The Edison Idea iDP-210 is a full featured feeder protection relay that includes
the Incipient Cable Splice Failure (ICSF) detector algorithm.

Edison Relays
The Edison line of relays is comprised of 18 compact, draw-out relays which are
identical in appearance and operation. Edison relays are designed with ease of use in
mind. Offering state of the art performance, all Edison relays feature an easy to use
front panel interface that will have you up and running in minutes, rather than hours or
days as with most other relays. And since all relays share the same interface, the
knowledge you gain from using one relay is transportable to every other relay in the line.
All Edison relays feature Modbus communications for easily interfacing to SCADA or
automation systems.
