| Generator Protection
The MG30 is ideally suited for small to medium generators, or, when matched
with the MD32G Generator Differential relay, as a complete protection
package for larger generators. The MG30 provides a full compliment of
protective functions required for generator protection. These include:
under-impedance (21), overexcitation (24), under- voltage (27), reverse
power (32), under power (37), loss-of-field (40), negative sequence
overcurrent (46), thermal image trip (49), instantaneous overcurrent (50),
breaker failure (50BF), time-overcurrent (51), voltage-dependent
time-overcurrent (51V), inadvertent energization (50/27), positive sequence
overvoltage (59pos), PT fuse failure (60FL), both 95% and 100% stator ground
fault (64S), and two levels of frequency elements (81).

Edison UM30SV Vector Jump relay
The UM30SV Vector Jump relay is designed to detect generator islanding
conditions. When a generator and its local load becomes isolated from the
balance of the power system, a step change in sensed frequency occurs. This
so called "vector jump" is a reliable indicator of an islanding condition.
In addition to detecting this phenomena, the other fucntions in the UM30SV
make it an excellent all purpose voltage and frequency relay. Included are
frequency (81), under and over-votlage (27, 59), sequence voltage elements
(27pos, 59pos, 59neg, 59zero), and overexcitation (24).

Edison IM30G Generator Relay
The IM30G is ideally suited for the protection of small
generators, or as the core protection package for either medium or large generators. The
IM30G provides all the basic protective functions required for generator protection. These
include: reverse power (32), loss-of-field (40), negative sequence overcurrent (46),
instantaneous overcurrent (50), breaker failure (50BF), time-overcurrent (51), and stator
ground fault protection (64).

Edison IM3GV Generator Relay
The IM3GV is also well suited for the protection of small
to medium generators, or as the core protection package for large generators. The IM3GV
provides a full compliment of protective functions required for generator protection.
These include: under voltage (27), reverse power (32), under power (37), loss-of-field
(40), negative sequence overcurrent (46), thermal image trip (49), instantaneous
overcurrent (50), breaker failure (50BF), time-overcurrent (51), voltage-dependent
time-overcurrent (51V), positive sequence overvoltage (59pos), and two levels of frequency
elements (81).

Edison MD32G Rotating Machine Differential Relay
The MD32G provides differential protection for rotating
machine including both generators and motors. The MD32G provides protection against two or
three-phase internal faults, inter-turn faults, and ground faults in equipment with
low-impedance or solidly grounded neutrals. Its multi-slope percentage bias characteristic
allows for compensation of CT ratio error mismatch and differences in CT response. In
addition to differential protection, the MD32G provides phase and ground time-overcurrent
and breaker failure protection.

Edison SPM21 Automatic Synchronizing Relay
The SPM21 provides automatic synchronizing for any size
generator. This relay monitors the bus and generator voltage, frequency, and phase angle
and provides automatic control to the generators governor and voltage regulator to
bring the unit into synchronization and initiate breaker closing. The breaker closing time
is also taken into account to determine the advanced closing angle required to provide
synchronizing with a minimum phase angle displacement. The SPM21 provides for dead bus
operation, whereby the ability to connect the generator to a dead bus may be controlled.

Edison SCM21 Synch-Check Relay
The SCM21 relay provides permissive synchronization with
one or two lines against a common bus. The relay checks the voltage, frequency, and phase
angle displacement between each line and the bus. When the values are with the set
parameters, the SCM21 provides an contact output for permissive breaker closing. The SCM21
also provides for dead line and dead bus operation.
