Form 6 Recloser Controls

The innovative and industry-leading Form 6 recloser control is designed for rapid user customization, full protection and metering, all under the automation umbrella. The Form 6 Recloser Control uses a powerful, yet flexible, platform design to provide maximum protective functionality, standardized hardware design, and simple interactive graphical interfaces.

Three versions of the Form 6 recloser control are available:

• The Rack Mount control, designed for substation applications, allows side-by-side mounting to economize substation house real estate.
• The Yard Mount control includes a weatherproof steel cabinet for direct mounting on the recloser's substation frame, while using substation supply power.
• The Pole Mount control includes a weatherproof steel cabinet for direct-pole mounting.

Engineering features such as ProView™ interface software, TCC Editor™ II, Idea Workbench™, and Oscillography Replay highlight innovative new tools to standardize on one protection system for your distribution system.

Designed with advanced protection routines, precision metering, flexible automation integration, and unequaled user customization, the Form 6 recloser control is the low cost solution for tomorrow's substation designs. Convert substation system data to valuable information and provide rich conclusions to optimize substation performance. A full complement of protection functionality including overcurrent, frequency, voltage, directional, and sync-check is integrated along with system analysis tools such as full power metering, oscillography, fault location, and the event recorder all harmonized through distribution automation. Connect the Form 6 control to an automation platform with serial or discrete communications and use the dial-up modem software included in the package to access the Application Diagram.

Clearly defined and guarded Trip and Close Pushbuttons promote intuitive operation. Thirty LED indicators provide immediate status indication of key operating and system conditions. Take action quickly, flawlessly with the positive feedback Analysis and Function keys. ProView interface software integrates a host of protection, metering, and automation functions in a simple pull-down menu environment to quickly configure the Form 6 recloser control. Since there are no special commands or strings of commands to learn, training and installation costs are considerably lowered. Even customization can be quickly completed with the graphical Idea Workbench another standard feature, which enables users to rapidly customize equipment to meet specific application needs. The graphical programmable logic environment allows unlimited flexibility for control inputs, status outputs, LEDs, option buttons, alarms, and serial communication without compromising protection algorithms. The graphical environment provides immediate understanding of the application and minimizes training costs.
