| Benefits of Maintenance
Kyle reclosers are widely applied to increase service continuity, reduce operating costs and increase revenue. If properly maintained, reclosers will provide reliable circuit protection at peak efficiency throughout the frequent, harsh spring storms and summer peak load demand periods.
Frequency of Recloser Maintenance
In the absence of specific operation experience, use the following guideline to establish maintenance intervals:
- Oil-interrupting reclosers should be maintained at least every three years
- Oil-insulated vacuum interrupting reclosers should be maintained every six years
- Air-insulated vacuum interrupting reclosers should be maintained every six years
Maintenance Safety Requirement for Kyle Reclosers and Controls
All Kyle reclosers and controls require routine inspection and maintenance to ensure safe and dependable operation. If the equipment is not adequately maintained, it may fail to operate properly. Improper operation can cause equipment damage and possible personal injury.
