Single-Phase Hydraulic Sectionalizer GH
The Type GH single-phase, hydraulically controlled sectionalizer can be applied to distribution systems within the following ratings:
Nominal System Rated Voltage: 14.4 kV
Rated Maximum Voltage: 15 kV
Rated Impulse Withstand Voltage: 95 kV BIL
Maximum Continuous Current: 140 amps
Maximum Momentary and Making Current: 6500 asymmetrical amps
The GH sectionalizer's proven design has serviced the electric utility industry for decades with continuous improvements. The present Form II design includes a close and latch making current and a quick reset feature to provide superior performance for single-phase, lightly loaded applications. The standard manual trip and close handle allows easy field operation and restoration of service.
A simple internal mechanism operates the GH sectionalizer. The mechanism incorporates a series-connected actuating coil, a plunger, and a trip piston to perform counting and trip operations. The sectionalizer opens automatically and is closed manually with the yellow operating handle under the sleet hood. The sectionalizer can also be tripped manually with the operating handle.
