FXA/FXB Recloser Controls
FXB recloser controls are equipped with numerous sophisticated features that provide application flexibility, SCADA operation, and event recording. These features are all contained in a compact package designed for Cooper Power Systems reclosers, including NOVA™ reclosers.
FXB controls are interchangeable with existing Form 2, 3, 3A, 4A, and 4C controls used with Kyle® electronically controlled reclosers.
FXB recloser controls provide complete phase and ground/earth overcurrent detection with a wide choice of minimum trip settings, time-current curves, and control functions. The TCC Editor™ is a standard feature, providing viewing of the TCC and modifiers prior to configuring the control to assure proper TCC coordination. All operating parameters and settings are programmable via personal computer.
The FXB operator-friendly front panel consists of the following programming menus:
- Control, Recloser, Communications, and Password Configuration
- Basic Parameters, including Minimum Trips, Operations-to-Lockout, Reclose/Reset Time, Time Current Curves, and Cold Load Pickup
- Advanced Parameters, including High Current Lockout, Sequence Coordination, Event Recorder, and Operation Counter
- Interrupter Duty, RMS Currents, Demand Currents, Maximum Demand Currents, Target Counters, State, and Metering Configuration Metering/Counters
- Event Recorder which contains the last 50 events in non-volatile memory.
- Load Profile which contains the current readings for the past 25.5 hours at 15 minute intervals in volatile memory
The primary power source is 120 Vac. A 240 Vac version is also available. This includes operation of the temperature-regulated heater, current charging in bulk rate, and energization of all input/output contacts.
The Type FXA recloser control has been superseded by the FXB control, which provides all the functionality of the FXA along with front panel programming.
