R-Temp Fluid is being discontinued, with existing stock expected to last until the end of 2005. To ensure a smooth transition, Cooper Power Systems will provide technical assistance to help you convert your specs from R-Temp fluid to Envirotemp FR3TM fluid.
R-Temp fluid, manufactured by Cooper Power Systems under strict quality control
for optimum transformer cooling characteristics, has a higher fire point and higher
dielectric strength than mineral oil. The special formulation is less-flammable
as defined by the National Electric Code® (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code
(NESC). Since its introduction in 1975, over 90,000 R-Temp fluid-filled
transformers have been installed, approaching one million unit years of
service. The fire safety record is flawless. R-Temp fluid is classified
by Underwriters Laboratories® and approved by Factory Mutual for use
in indoor or outdoor installations.
