| Station Class Surge Arresters
Porcelain and silicone rubber housed Station class arresters are available from Cooper Power Systems. Both styles have been
certified to the latest revision of ANSI/IEEE Standard C62.1.1 for Station Class arresters.
Porcelain Housed Station Class Arresters Type AZE
Cooper Power Systems porcelain housed Station Class Type AZE arresters come in ratings of 3-360 kV. All arresters incorporate
a gray porcelain that provides exceptional dieletric strength and high external creepage and arcing distances. The internal
construction utilizes a gapless MOV technology. Cooper Power Systems manufactures their high quality MOV's which provide
low discharge voltage characteristics and high energy handling capability.
Two design configurations are available, a metal top design (ratings 3-360 kV) and a cubicle mount design (ratings 3-48 kV). Cubicle
mount designs are ideally suited for mounting in confined spaces (such as cubicles or cabinets) where clearances between phases or
ground are limited.
Type AZES (Standard energy rating), Type AZEH (High energy rating) and Type AZEX (eXtra high energy rating) designs are available.
The standard AZES is designed to meet the vast majority of Station Class arrester applications. However, for those areas which may
be prone to higher energy surges, Types AZEH and AZEX can be ordered. All designs have met the strict requirements for Station
Class arresters as prescribed by standards.

UltraSIL (Silicone Rubber) Housed Station Class Arresters Types US and UH
Cooper Power Sytems UltraSIL housed Station Class arrester, Types US and UH, feature the industry recognized superior polymer housing
material, silicone rubber. For long term weathering performance, water repellance, resistance to UV degradation and atmospheric
pollution as well as other important insulation performance, silicone rubber is unsurpassed.
Two different energy ratings are available, the Type US (Standard energy rating) and the Type UH (High energy rating). Both designs
meet all the requirements for station class arresters as prescribed by standards. The standard type US is perfectly suited for most
station class arrester applications. However, for potential high energy surge areas, the Type UH is available.
UltraSIL housed Types US and UH arresters are available in ratings from 3-108 kV and can be customized to meet a variety of customer
mounting and connection needs. The standard mounting base can be fit on 8.75" to 10" bolt circle patterns. All arresters can be
suspension mounted, base mounted or horizontally mounted.
