| Porcelain Housed Distribution Class Surge Arresters
CPS continues to offer a full line of porcelain housed distribution class arresters. Porcelain housings have been used for
arresters for many years with a tremendously reliable service history. Porcelain will not deteriorate, decompose, or change
characteristics over time no matter how severe the environment. Arresters can be ordered in standard or high creepage (leakage)
housings for contaminated applications. A wide range of mounting brackets and accessories are also available to customize
the arrester as needed.
Porcelain Housed VariGAP Distribution Class Arresters
In a porcelain housed arrester package there is none that comes close to providing the levels of protection and service
reliability that our VariGAP arresters provide. VariGAP arresters provide up to 30% lower discharge voltages and significantly
higher and longer TOV withstand ability, all at a price that is competitive with any arrester today. (For more VariGAP information

Porcelain housed VariGAP distribution arresters are available in Normal Duty (type AZS), Heavy Duty (type AZL) and Heavy Duty
Riser Pole (type AZR) designs. All three surge arrester design types have been certified to the latest revision of standard ANSI/IEEE
C62.11. Arrester duty-cycle ratings range from 3 to 36 kV.

In a porcelain body, CPS's gapless MOV series of surge arresters, our VariSTAR line, provides highly reliable service
operation to meet a wide range of service applications.
Porcelain housed VariSTAR distribution arresters are available in Normal Duty (type AZS), Heavy Duty Type (type AZL) and Heavy
Duty Riser Pole (type AZR) designs. All three surge arrester design types have been certified to the latest revision of standard
ANSI/IEEE C62.11. Arrester duty-cycle ratings range from 3 to 36 kV.
