Intermediate Class Surge Arresters
Porcelain and silicone rubber housed intermediate class arresters are available from Cooper Power Systems. Both styles have been
certified to the latest revision of ANSI/IEEE Standard C62.11 for Intermediate Class arresters.
Porcelain Housed Intermediate Class Arresters Type AZF
Cooper Power Systems porcelain housed intermediate Class Type AZF arresters come in ratings of 3-120 kV. All arresters incomporate
a gray porcelain that provides exceptional dielectric strength and high external creepage and arcing distances. The internal
construction utilizes a gapless MOV technology. The MOV's are manufactured by Cooper and provide low discharge voltage
characteristics and high energy handling capability.
Two design configurations are available, a metal top design (ratings 9-120 kV) and a porcelain top design (ratings 3-27 kV). The
porcelain top design is ideally suited for mounting in confined spaces (such as cubicle or cabinet) where clearances between phases
or ground are limited.

UltraSIL (Silicone Rubber) Housed Intermediate Class Arresters Type UI
Cooper Power Systems UltraSIL housed intermediate Class arresters, type UI, feature the industry recognized superior polymer housing material, silicone rubber. For long term weathering performance, water repellance, resistance to UV degradation and atmospheric pollution as well as other important insulation performance, silicone rubber is unsurpassed.
UltraSIL housed Type UI arresters are available in ratings from 3-108kV and can be customized to meet a variety of customer mounting and connection needs. The standard mounting base can be fit on 8.75" to 10" bolt circle patterns. Type UI arresters can be suspension mounted, base mounted or horizontally mounted.
